does as described. It would be an improvement if the infra red senses were covering a larger area not always opened when pet approached from an angle, had to put other bowls next to it to guide pet towards front of bowl so that senses picked up movement.

this is an excellent product that works perfectly
aside form the fact that the sensors are only at the front as the review above states (which is why 4 stars). which causes the lid to close if my cat moves and hits it on the head which is very funny but not to nice for the poor kitty.
id recommend this product as it only took a few days for my cat to figure it out and it keeps the food fresh and contains the smell
all in all a good bye
