This book tells the facts as they are, with the authors personal experiences included. I am sure the Kennel Club and some pedigree dog/cat breeders will hate this book - but lets face it, the truth hurts sometimes. This book stands up for facts and humanity and not designer pets

I could really relate to Emma's story growing up, it made me laugh and get a tear in eye. Her compassion for animals is clear; I think it took a lot of courage to write such a truthful and informative account of the pedigree world. All breed lovers should be aware of what they are buying into.

Ms Milne's book is full of excellent advice for all those of us who may be wanting to get a cat or dog. It gives all the sound reasons for choosing certain breeds and ensures that if your heart is set on one breed you have all the facts on their future health and the impact it may have on you and your family. It is a must read for anyone thinking of having a pet.

Ms. Milne has cut straight to the heart of dog breeding and exposed the real on-goings in this industry.
A fascinating read for the general public and veterinary profession alike.
If we had more vets with Ms. Milne's attitude and forthright opinion perhaps our dog breeds would not be in the mutated forms that we see in the parks today.
